The first day of the symposium was an ‘inspiration day’, open for food inspection agencies, as well as researchers and companies which offer new sensor technologies and AI algorithms. Although the program was about food inspection in general, there was a strong focus on animal welfare and automated inspections at the slaughterhouse.
Noémie presented the aWISH pilots and the installation status of the technologies. Partners of the aWISH project CLK, Wel2Be, Vion, and Utrecht University were also present. It was a fruitful symposium with a lot of interest in the aWISH project.
It was interesting to get an overview of new developments in sensor technologies to measure animal welfare and to meet other tech providers.
The second day, which hosted several thematic sessions, was only open for food inspection agencies and a few invited people (among which also Bas Rodenburg from Utrecht University).
